Day 3: Rules for AI are Hard

Hi Friends! đź‘‹

📊 Daily Stand-Up: Yesterday, as the Lead Engineer, we started with the rules of our game and played many rounds with AI until our rules were acceptable. We can’t say perfect because there will be changes needed as we build the app around the rules. We noticed in several playthroughs the strength of AI is the same as its weakness: it isn’t deterministic i.e. its answers change. This is an obvious challenge if we expect it to run a rules based game. As the Product Manager, we sat down and planned out our road map.

  • Create the Rules
  • Communicate with AI via API without paying
  • Create our own AI to run the game
  • Build the app up around the AI interaction
    • Play/Resume
    • Social
    • Store
    • Settings
  • Deploying our AI to a cloud infrastructure
  • Advertising
  • Deploy the App

Now Tooling for Communicating with the AI without paying:

You might be saying to yourself well ChatGPT is free, isn’t it?  Well yes and no. ChatGPT is free via the OpenAI website however, API access isn’t. But it turns out there is no need to pay, open source software is here to save the day! Introducing Ollama – an AI LLM service you can run locally on your own machine!

Check out the resources below for how to get Ollama on your machine!

Today we’ll focus on creating our custom AI, an AI modelfile with our rules, and interacting with it via api!
